There was no one.
No one but herself.
She strode towards the den she and Wisp had all their fun memories together.
"Truly, I am the chief," said Midnight.
Sure enough, she ruled as the chief of a deserted barren field without another creature.
This is wrong, Midnight thought as she howled into the empty sky. "My dear brother, where did you go?"
Midnight realised she couldn't stay. She wanted comfort.
Zeta's smiling face offered her reassurance.
Yes, so I shall go to the Silver Woods, thought Midnight. Before she did, the clawed on a rock, and stuck it onto a puddle of drying mud.
The rock simply shows an arrow, pointed towards the Silver Woods, the dirt road. The black wolf turned and pictured the place with the entire pack.
She couldn't.
They've betrayed her.
She can only picture Wisp staring sadly at her before disappearing into the fog of her thoughts.
With that, Midnight strode over to the Silver Woods.
"Don't do that!"
Theta's voice reached Midnight's ears, gladdening her the woods is near.
"I'm starved," said a familiar rather deep voice that Midnight couldn't distinguish.
"You'll be cursed!" cried Zeta's voice.
Midnight ran towards the voices.
"Oh, yeah, right, cursed," snorted the voice.
Midnight broke through the silver-like leaves. "Cullen! No---!"
The maned wolf looked at her, his red fur tidied by the rain and raindrops was still on his fur. "They mean it," say Midnight.
"They're just afraid I'm going to eat all their prey," said the maned wolf naughtily.
"Must be another of your cursed friend, Middy?" asked Theta.
"Middy?" asked Midnight.
"My little nicky-name for you," said Theta.
Cullen shrugged and chased after a brown hare. "Ach, he's stubborn," said Omega, appearing.
"He sure is," sighed Zeta.
"He sure is," sighed Zeta.
"Brother dear," said Theta, "say 'hello' to your friend here."
Omega looked at Midnight. "Hello. How's your emergency journey?" asked the wolf.
"I- um..." stuttered Midnight.
"I understand if you don't want to talk about it," said Omega, winking.
Midnight looked around. "Where's Hawk? Or Sunrise?"
"Hawk? The cursed wolf?" asked Omega.
Midnight nodded. "He left one day and never returned," said Zeta.
"W-what about Sunrise?" cried Midnight.
Theta smiled. "I'll show you."
Sunrise was curled up on a rock, sleeping. "She's adorable," squealed Theta.
"You don't want to wake her, Theta," said a wolf. Lambda. The black wolf's fur, streaking with grey, his grey eyes concerned.
"Yes, Lambda," said Theta, and left, aware Lambda wanted to talked personally to Midnight.
Lambda looked at his claws, then Midnight. "Midnight, I know of the wolves of this place. I know she-wolves come here every now and then. I get reports, and, sure, Alpha loves them as visitors, but let me guess. This is a ritual of a quest," he guessed.
"Yes, but how-"
Lambda's lips didn't even curve up, as if he wasn't contented to be right. "Midnight, I observe to know these. These quests, do they send you far out?" asked Lambda.
Midnight suddenly gasped. She forgotten the rune stone a long time ago. She didn't enter the forest with it. She didn't. Even if the Nyx Pack were there, they wouldn't believe she actually made it.
"Do they?" prompted Lambda.
Midnight looked shocked for a second. "T-they do," she stuttered.
"Where?" asked Lambda.
"Rygeane Ruins," replied Midnight.
Lambda's eyes were huge, and he muttered, "No."
Author's Note: You probably thought Lambda wasn't scared of anything. Additional characters from sign-ups will be rather minor for now, but they will become more main later on.
Also, I extended the length one one's death. One comment is needed per month to keep the character they made alive.
Also, welcome to part 2! You may sign up a new character if you've filled in a form by Part 1, you can have any creature you want this time IF your location will be in the Silver Woods. I'll update the page sometime, but now you know. You can re-sign-up your dead/runaway character.
